There are a number of air conditioning brands out there but MIDEA is one of the most prominent. Here, we are going to look at how to find the right Midea Air Conditioning Error Codes for your device.

Midea aircon error codes

  1. E0 – error code will be displayed when the EEPROM data in the indoor unit is abnormal.
  2. E1 – error code will be displayed when the communication between indoor and outdoor units is abnormal.
  3. E3 – error code will be displayed when there is an abnormal fan speed in the indoor unit.
  4. E4 – error code will be displayed when the indoor room temperature sensor has open circuit or short circuit.
  5. E5 – error code will be displayed when the evaporator coil temperature sensor has open circuit or short circuit.
  6. EC – error code will be displayed when there’s a malfunction of refrigerant leakage detection.
  7. EE – error code will be displayed when there’s a malfunction of the water-level alarm.
  8. E8 – error code will be displayed when there’s a communication malfunction between two indoor units (for the twins model).
  9. E9 – error code will be displayed for other malfunctions of the twins model
  10. F0Current overload protection Check compressor winding, disconnection, or poor contact of connectors.
  11. F1Outdoor room temperature sensor open circuit or short circuit Check the connection, if normal check the sensor resistance value, which should be between 15 and 25KΩ/25℃.
  12. F2Outdoor condenser pipe temperature sensor error Check the connection, if normal check the sensor resistance value, which should be between 15 and 25KΩ/25℃.
  13. F3Discharging air temperature sensor error.
  14. F4Outdoor EEPROM error
  15. F5 – Outdoor fan speed malfunction (Only for DC fan motor).
  16. F6T2b sensor error Replace T2b sensor.
  17. F7 – The lifting panel communication checking channel is abnormal Replace the mainboard inside the lifting panel.
  18. F8Lifting panel malfunction Replace the mainboard inside the lifting panel.
  19. F9 – Lifting panel is not closed. Replace the mainboard inside the lifting panel.
  20. P0Inverter module IPM protection Inverter module protection, such as inverter module overcurrent protection, inverter module drive under voltage protection and so on.
  21. P1High/Low voltage protection. Refrigerant overcharge or undercharge, system circuit failure causes high pressure or low pressure.
  22. P2High-temperature protection of compressor top. The temperature detected by the thermistor on the compressor top is too high.

Compressor internal fault or refrigerant leakage causes compressor to overheat. Compressor top overheating due to poor heat dissipation (ambient temperature above 30℃) may also cause the compressor to overheat.

  23. P3Outdoor low temp. Protection

When the outdoor ambient temperature drops below 4℃, the unit may stop for a certain time for compressor frosting protection. When the ambient temperature rises above 4℃, the unit will resume operation automatically.

  24. P4Compressor drive error (IPM) The signal feedback from the motor is abnormal during rotation.
  25. P5Mode conflict.
  26. P6Inverter inverter module overheat protection.
  27. P7Overcurrent or short circuit protection
  28. P8Outdoor EEPROM parameter error
  29. P9Outdoor unit / indoor unit transmission error.
  30. PACommunication error between outdoor units in parallel operation or cascade connection.
  31. PBIndoor / outdoor unit transmission error (Emergency operation).
  32. PCIndoor unit EEPROM parameter error.
  33. PDInverter compressor rotation speed detection circuit abnormal signal input.
  34. PEInput parameter error during full heat pump mode operation.

I hope you found the information I have shared useful and helpful. I will update the aircon error codes if there are new ones. Before you operate the aircon again, turn it off. Wait for 15 minutes or more before operating the a/c again. If there is an error code displayed after the power was turned on, try to see what happened before you turn it on again.
