How to Prevent your Aircon from Any Bacterias/Fungus?

Keeping your aircon bacterium free :

                     After you have cleaned your aircon well or if you have just purchase a HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system, be sure to minimize the potential for bacteria to grow. Check and clean the filters frequently in order to remove sources of food and bacteria spores. Clean the evaporator and the drain pan on a regular basis, at the beginning of the season for aircon use and at least once every 2 months while the unit is operating frequently.    

       Aircon units are said to destroy 99.9% of airborne viruses and bacteria, while delivering the most comfortable level of heating and cooling. The S series kill airborne viruses, bacteria and odour by generating ionised mist from the air in room. 

        Here’s the problem. Cold gas is pumped through an aircon Steam Cleaning. A coil is made up of copper tubing with an aluminum fins. The cold gas travel through the copper coil transmitting its low temperature to the aluminum fins, which are now chilled. 

          Many forms of mold and bacteria love this atmosphere including listeria, a bacterium that loves ice bins and aircon system. Listeria is known for its ability to cause large  outbreak of food poisoning in restaurant. 

         Mold and bacteria buildup on an aircon coil will give you the following indoor air and other problems:

• Mold odours
• Airborne mold
• Increased allergy risks
• Decrease in aircon airflow
• Higher electric bills

      To prevent aircon from bacteria/fungus.

• Maintain the drain pan
• Replace air filters regularly
• Use a disinfectant
• Keep ducts dry
• Check the air intakes

     1. Run your AC: A little known fact about aircon is that they were designed to dehumidify rooms.

     2. Identify and stop leaks: If you’re already aware of leaks in your home or office, the summer rainy season should be good motivation to get them taken care off.

     3. Airflow and ventilation: By making sure that all of the corners in your home and offices have proper airflow and ventilation. 

      4. Care for your carpeting: If your home or office is mostly carpeted, take care to avoid moisture.
