How to Use an Air Conditioner Remote Control

An air conditioner remote control is one of the most important appliances in your house. It helps you to control your AC units easily and keeps them functional at all times. The remote helps you to switch it on/off, adjust the temperature settings according to your desired level as well as freeze the air, and lots more. The moment you acquire a new AC unit, it is essential for you to know how to use the air conditioner remote.

1. Power Button

The power button turns your air conditioner on or off. It is usually located on the top left of your remote control. Press it once to turn on and again to turn off.

2. Temperature Up and Down Buttons

These buttons are used to adjust the temperature setpoint of your air conditioner. The temperature up button increases the temperature setting and the temperature down button decreases it.

3. Fan Speed Button

The fan speed button allows you to adjust the fan speed of your unit between high, medium, low, and auto settings. When you press this button, a light will indicate which setting you are using (check your user manual for details).

4. Setting a timer

On/Off timing settings can be adjusted using the remote control. Pressing the TIMER button once displays ON TIME in the display; pressing it again displays OFF TIME in the display. Use the TEMP UP or DOWN buttons to adjust ON TIME or OFF TIME settings as required by half-hour intervals.

5. MODE Button

Use the “Mode” button on your remote control to choose between heating, cooling, and fan modes as needed.  the MODE buttons repeatedly until you select either COOL mode (for cooling only), ECO mode (for energy saving), DRY mode (for dehumidifying only) or FAN mode (for ventilation only). The indicator light will show which function is selected.

6. Swing Button

Press the SWING button to activate automatic vertical oscillation of the air outlet grille or press again to deactivate it.

7. Energy saving Button

Check if there is an “Energy Saving” button on your remote control and turn it on if there is one on your remote control. It will help you save energy and costs when using your air conditioner unit.
